GRAPHIC DESIGN

DIGITAL ART DESIGN

"Possibilities"

Digital Photography by Adam McCaffrey

My name is Adam McCaffrey and the digital art I have designed represents beauty. The three design elements that went into this art piece are the Design Process, Color, and Text.

The Design Process is the most important step in the entire project. I started with the idea of beauty being limitless, however I needed to refine beauty into one object. So I decided to show all the possibilities of beauty in one person. Having one person in many different styles and personalities shows that no matter what a single person can be beautiful no matter what because the definition of beauty is “pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically.”  The definition doesn’t say tanned skin or Timberland boots, it’s simply something that is pleasing.

The second design element that played a key part is the use of Color. In my design the only element that is brightly colored is the definition of beauty, that’s because I want it to be the focal point and the first thing that people read before looking at the cloned models. That way the viewer would make the connection that beauty is a limitless descriptive word.

The third design element is the use of Text. This plays a big role in my Digital Art project because I wanted to make the theme obvious to whoever would be viewing my Digital Art, having the definition written in a font that looks like lipstick makes the connection between the models that have quite a bit of makeup to the text.

In conclusion, I believe that with all three of these design elements together I made an appealing Digital Art Poster that attracts the eye of a viewer. The use of color, text, and the design process create an interesting art peice.

PERSONAL LOGO DESIGN

"Personal Logo Design"

Logo Design by Adam McCaffrey

My name is Adam McCaffrey and the logo I have designed is for AM Films. The three design elements that went into this logo are the Design Process, Color, and Shapes.

The Design Process was the longest step. I made six different logo designs in the beginning, however I was on one design stood out during the entire process, and this image ended up being the final logo design. How the “A” flows into the “M” stood out from day 1.

The second design element that played a key part is the use of Color. The absence of color is very important in my design. I did not want to make it too colorful because I wanted it to look more professional than playful. The reason I made the “A” a different color is because I wanted to separate the letters and have element that would catch the viewer’s eye and attract a client. The predominately black color works well as a result of the strong contrast, which provides excellent visibility.

The third design element is the use of Shape. This plays a big role in my logo because I wanted to make my initials pop, look unique but also flow so I decided to make the letters from scratch. The other shape that I wanted to add is the filmstrip. I decided to use this because it symbolizes what services this company provides.

In conclusion, I believe that with all three of these design elements together I made a professional logo that attracts the consumer’s eye. The use of color, shapes, and the design process create an effective logo.
